My truck has 120,000 miles on it. Can I change over to a synthetic oil?

Ford 1987 Pickup Truck Help? plzzz?

it has cut off yet. the temperature guage never rises. i’ve had all my fluids checked and filled. it started after i had my spark plugs replaced. the first set had two cracked plugs i had them change thinking that was the problem but it seemed to make the problem worse
