The Chevrolet Trailblazer LS for 2007: Improving on 2006

March 29th, 2010

Chevrolet Trailblazer

A lot has been said about the Chevrolet Trailblazer for 2007. As Chevrolet’s entry in the sport utility market the Trailblazer (and in this case specically the LS version) has maintained a good reputation. The 4-door Trailblazer is especially appealing to wide market segment, making it a perfect truck to help Chevrolet as a brand in general.

Chevrolet Trailblazer Engine Specs

Chevrolet Trailblazer Engine Specs: The Trailblazer LS comes outfitted with a Vortec 5.3 liter, 8-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by General Motors, is teamed up with a General Motors 4-speed transmission. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Chevrolet.

The Trailblazer uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The truck uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

For the 2007 Trailblazer, the fuel delivery system is a electronic SFI, using gasoline for fuel. A fuel-injected MFI configuration. The gas tank holds 22.00 gallons.

Vehicle Statistics

The Trailblazer is 191.80 inches long, 74.70 inches wide, and 67.80 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 113.00 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Trailblazer is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes a warranty on the drivetrain for 60 months or 100,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the sport utility market. Extended warranties are also available through the dealer.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $31,320 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $29,284. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sport Utility.

Fuel Efficiency

The 2007 Trailblazer gets 19 miles/gallon on the highway and only 15 in the city. This is exceptional for a sport utility truck.

The vehicle is available in Black, Bordeaux Red Metallic, Graphite Metallic, Graystone Metallic, Imperial Blue Metallic, Moondust Metallic, Red Jewel Tintcoat, Sandstone Metallic, Silverstone Metallic, and Summit White.

We Think…

The 2006 model began the promise of the Chevrolet Trailblazer. The 2007 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Chevrolet hopes that the Trailblazer LS will continue to be a profitable vehicle.

I’m definiately wanting a flex fuel sport utility. Since the Trailblazer isn’t, is it a good buy?
