March 1st, 2010

Chevrolet has been blessed with many award-winning designs, including the Chevrolet Suburban 2500 of 2004. There are two trim levels to the Suburban 2500, including LS and LT. The LS version is one of the more popular options. Like in 2003 the popular 8.1 liter Vortec has made this a popular choice for sport utility buyers across the country.

Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Engine Specs

Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Engine Specs: The Suburban 2500 LS comes outfitted with a Vortec 8.1 liter, 8-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by General Motors, is teamed up with a General Motors 4-speed transmission. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Chevrolet.

The fuel system for the 2004 Suburban 2500 is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 31.00 gallons.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The Suburban 2500 has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The truck uses torsion bar front springs and leaf in the rear.

Vehicle Statistics

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $37,600 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $32,900. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sport Utility.

The standard warranty period for the Suburban 2500 is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the sport utility market.

I’m definiately wanting a flex fuel sport utility. Since the Suburban 2500 isn’t, is it a good buy?
