Our Review of the 2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LS
As time has gone by several things can be said about the Chevrolet Suburban 1500 series: including the strong reaction most buyers have towards their truck. The 8-cylinder engine is at the core of the strong emotions, it is reliable for its class and delivers a huge amount of torque.
Performance
Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Engine Specs: The Suburban 1500 LS comes outfitted with a Vortec 5.3 liter, 8-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by General Motors, is teamed up with a General Motors 4-speed transmission. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Chevrolet.
The Suburban 1500 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The truck uses torsion bar and coil springs front and rear respectively.
For the 2003 Suburban 1500, the fuel delivery system is a electronic SFI, using gasoline for fuel. A fuel-injected MFI configuration. The gas tank holds 31.00 gallons.
