Insight Into the Chevrolet Suburban 2500 for 2007

February 28th, 2010

A lot has been said about the Chevrolet Suburban 2500 for 2007. As Chevrolet’s entry in the sport utility market the Suburban 2500 (and in this case specically the LS version) has maintained a solid reputation. The 4-door Suburban 2500 is especially appealing to wide market segment, making it a perfect truck to help Chevrolet as a brand in general.

Performance

The Suburban 2500 LS is equipped with a General Motors 6.0 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The Vortec engine is mated to a General Motors 4-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Chevrolet.

The Suburban 2500 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The truck uses torsion bar and leaf springs front and rear respectively.

For the 2007 Suburban 2500, the fuel delivery system is a electronic SFI, using gasoline for fuel. A fuel-injected MFI configuration. The gas tank holds 31.00 gallons.

Suburban 2500 LS Statistics

The Suburban 2500 is 222.40 inches long, 79.10 inches wide, and 76.80 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 130.00 inches. It is able to seat 8 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Suburban 2500 is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes a warranty on the drivetrain for 60 months or 100,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the sport utility market. Extended warranties are also available through the dealer.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $37,000 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $33,855. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sport Utility.

Fuel Efficiency

The Suburban 2500 LS received a miles-per-gallon rating of fifteen in-city driving and twenty one when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green truck, this was subpar.

The vehicle is available in Amber Bronze Metallic, Bermuda Blue Metallic, Black, Dark Blue Metallic, Gold Mist Metallic, Graystone Metallic, Silver Birch Metallic, Sport Red Metallic, and Summit White.

In Summary

The 2006 model began the promise of the Chevrolet Suburban 2500. The 2007 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Chevrolet hopes that the Suburban 2500 LS will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
